Dr. Albert Mensah is the co-founder of Mensah Medical located in Lisle, IL. He hosts biannual outreach clinics in Arizona, Southern California, Northern California, Maryland, Michigan, and Florida with his associate, Dr. Judith Bowman. Dr. Mensah has extensive clinical experience in treating biochemical imbalances and began his career at the former Pfeiffer Treatment Center under the direction of William J. Walsh, Ph.D., president of the non-profit Walsh Research Institute.
Dr. Mensah received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and his medical degree from Finch University of Health Sciences-Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Swedish Covenant Hospital and additional fellowship training in academic development at JHS Cook County Hospital.
Dr. Mensah believes in educating patients, their families, and the healthcare community to leave the universe a better place. His current practice includes the management of cognitive disorders such as autism, behavior/learning disorders, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, anxiety syndromes, childhood and adult schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s Disease and family medicine. Dr. Mensah presents at conferences internationally, participates in physician training programs and serves as a faculty member in the Walsh Research Institute Medical Practitioner Education Program.
Dr. Judith Bowman is a specialist in biochemical imbalances, having received her B.A. from Illinois Wesleyan University and her medical degree from Finch University of Health Sciences-Chicago Medical School. She is certified and licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and is board-certified in Nuclear Medicine Technology following her training at Northwestern University's School of Nuclear Medicine.
Dr. Bowman completed her residency in family medicine at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago, where she also served as chief resident. Her interest and experience with behavioral/learning issues and autism increased during her tenure at the Pfeiffer Treatment Center in 2005. Dr. Bowman co-founded Mensah Medical in 2009 with her colleague, Dr. Albert Mensah, MD. She was inducted as a Fellow by the American Academy of Family Practice in 2017 and received an award in Leadership of Physician Well-being (LPW) in 2023.
Dr. Bowman combines traditional medicine with the biochemical approach to treating symptoms of cognitive and behavioral disorders, autism, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other biochemical imbalances. She believes in using compassion and high-quality service to meet each patient's individual needs and expectations.
Kim Jakubek, RN, has been with Mensah Medical since 2012, bringing over 40 years of nursing experience to the team. As a Nurse at Mensah Medical, Kim completes an initial intake and health history with new patients, helping to identify their symptoms and expectations before they speak with the doctors. From there, Kim acts as their patient care manager throughout their treatment at Mensah Medical.
Kim's qualifications include being a licensed registered nurse in Illinois and receiving an Associate in Applied Science for Nursing from Triton College. Prior to Mensah Medical, Kim worked as a nurse at the Carl Pfeiffer Treatment Center from 1994-2010 and as a nurse case manager for United Healthcare from 2010-2015.
Kim is passionate about helping her patients grow and restore their health through Mensah Medical's treatment protocols. She is honored to have a positive impact on her patients' everyday lives.
Sharon Koulback, RN, BSN, has over 32 years of experience in nursing and has been with Mensah Medical for 4 years. At Mensah Medical, Sharon is a patient advocate, educator, counselor, and care coordinator. Her roles include working directly with patients for crisis intervention, continuous assessment, management, and evaluation of patients for continuity of care.
Sharon has several educational qualifications, professional licenses, and specialized training certifications such as ELNEC, HPNA, CCRN, and AACN. She is also affiliated with various organizations, including the End of Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC), Hospice & Palliative Nurse Association (HPNA), and American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
Sharon is passionate about her work at Mensah Medical and considers it a privilege to educate, guide, and counsel patients in their healthcare journey. She listens to patients' stories with compassion, offering hope and support to each patient she encounters.
George Orebaugh, RN, BS, has been with Mensah Medical for 3 and a half years. With over 30 years of nursing experience, George has worked in inpatient behavioral health for pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. He worked in supervisory and management roles for eight of the 19 years he was in inpatient behavioral health. George also has experience working with medically complex and fragile pediatric populations in home health and transitional healthcare.
As a nurse at Mensah Medical, George performs intake assessments for new patients and educates patients and their families to help them understand their individual biomedical status and how it relates to their complaints and challenges. He is passionate about his work at Mensah Medical, where he has seen patients receive significant and life-changing benefits from the treatment protocols.
Diane Kukla is a patient intake coordinator and has been with Mensah Medical for six years. As one of the first contact points for patients, Diane helps new and established patients navigate the process with ease. She updates medical records, schedules appointments, and maintains organization within the practice. Her goal is to create a positive environment where patients feel comfortable and informed. She is passionate about the work at Mensah Medical because she firmly believes by helping the patient, Mensah Medical begins to heal the family.
Sharon Snyder is a clinical coordinator that has been with Mensah Medical for 4 years. Over time, her role has developed beyond providing foundational support for the functioning of Mensah Medical. Sharon ensures quality care for patients by scheduling appointments, addressing lab inquiries, and being a point of contact for non-medical questions. She is passionate about her work at Mensah Medical because she believes your health is a journey, not a destination, and one she is here to help you on.
Hope Horn is a medical student and post graduate research intern at Mensah Medical. She has been a member of the Mensah Medical team for 3 years. During this time she has conducted retrospective studies on Schizophrenia and Autism, while also studying directly under Dr. Mensah and Dr. Bowman.
Hope received her BA in Hispanic Studies and Chemistry from Pepperdine University. She is currently attending Rosalind Franklin University Chicago Medical School. Hope is passionate about her work at Mensah Medical, where she has seen how these treatment protocols heal individuals at their core - not just the symptoms they present with.
Lisa Wegrzyn is Mensah Medical's data manager. Shas been with Mensah Medical for 11 years and has 16 years of experience in her field. She monitors and organizes the lab work that is received from DHA, preparing it in a suitable format for the doctors. Prior to joining Mensah Medical, Lisa worked for the Pfeiffer Treatment Center. She is passionate about seeing the improvements in patients' symptoms and conditions when they comply with their Nutrient Program.
Mark Hallen has been with Mensah Medical since July 2016 and has practiced in his field for the same length of time. As a Data Processor, he assembles the completed Individualized Nutrient Program and sends it to patients via their Elation Passport Portal. The package contains the doctor's analysis of the patient's medical testing results and the specific blend of nutrients prescribed to correct the imbalances.
Mark has an MBA in Finance from DePaul University. He is passionate about the work at Mensah Medical because he has seen patients improve and make progress on the Nutrient Program with continued supplement intake.
Megan Snyder manages Mensah Medical's Nutrient Therapy online store. She is a Psychology student that has been with Mensah Medical for 3 years. Megan is passionate about her work at Mensah Medical because she feels like she is part of a practice that makes a real difference in our patient's health.
